Shan Harriman
Shan Harriman is a passionate advocate, community leader, and the driving force behind Inclusion Cayman, an organisation dedicated to building a more equitable and accessible society for people with disabilities across the Cayman Islands.
Shan’s path into disability advocacy is deeply personal. As the mother of a daughter with complex disabilities, she has lived firsthand the challenges, barriers, and quiet battles that families navigate every day. That experience did not simply inform her work, it ignited it. What began as a mother’s fierce determination to secure dignity, opportunity, and belonging for her daughter grew into a broader calling: to ensure that every person with a disability in Cayman has the equal opportunity to live a full and productive life.
Shan brings more than personal conviction to her role. With over 25 years of experience in the financial industry as a certified accountant, she brings the strategic thinking, analytical rigour, and institutional credibility that allow her to engage meaningfully with policymakers, partners, and stakeholders at every level. Her corporate background gives Inclusion Cayman a distinctive strength: a leader who can build sustainable, impactful organisations while never losing sight of the human stories at the heart of the mission.
As a generational Caymanian with deep roots in her community, Shan’s commitment to inclusion is not just professional, but also personal and cultural. She understands the fabric of these islands, the values that bind its people, and the immense opportunity that exists to make Cayman a place where disability is met not with barriers, but with belonging.
Under her leadership, Inclusion Cayman continues to grow as a credible and respected voice for disability inclusion across the islands, championing systemic change, fostering community awareness, and ensuring that the conversation about inclusion reaches every corner of Cayman.
